Hey all! YES I know how to use the search tool it's rather handy (y) but iv'e searched around and cant find all the answers I want on this topic!

So anyway after owning the t-jet for 3 months or so (love it!) iv'e started to think about more power! I like the power it has (baring in mind first drive scared me ****less lol) i'd just like it to kick in harder!

I know i'm looking to pay in between £250-500, iv'e seen other users saying they've payed around £350 for a map, anyone with any experience on prices for a map?

A good 25-30bhp gain would be lovely :D has anyone gained more from a map? (or less for that matter?) just with thier t-jet being standard that is, i'm considering getting a GSR kit but only for the noise, would probably burn my pocket too much in the long run! I also havent read many problems with remaps on t-jets but if any ones had any bad experience let me know!

Or good ;)

get in touch with tony from tune4performance, he's ex reddot and based in watford and will do it for around £200-250

I paid £200 at Tune4Performance for a RR map, ive had lots of problems after it though which i think is down to a faulty turbo unit
150bhp is acheivable for a standard t-jet

I saw PuntoMatt's reddot readings giving 153bhp I believe but that was also with an induction kit, could you achieve this power with just a map?

there abouts, i think the standard turbos limited to around 150bhp though, if you wanna get much more out of it you gotta remove the bottleneck and go for a bigger tubby

Wouldnt want to knacker the turbo :( if only I had the money to get a bigger turbo and intercooler etc!!

i jus used the money to get the bigger turbo first, then waited a few weeks until i had the money to map it, meant i had twice the gains from the map rather than being stuck at 145-150 forever

errm jus over 171bhp and 199lbft. peak torque only increased 10lbft with the map but holds it a lot further through the rev range. aye it feels totally different with the bigger turbo, kicks in a lot smoother than the standard one...gathers pace a lot easier higher up in the revs now though

Sanspeed tuning in London is the only place i would be taking it.

Couldnt recommend them guys enough, i live over 350 mile away from them but they were worth the travel by far!

Yeah I wouldn't pay more than £300. You should get about 140-150bhp from the map, but as others have said, it would be a waste if you do plan on getting a turbo/fmic/etc in the future, as you'd just have to get remapped again, and it would just be money poured down the drain.

If you'd be happy with 140-150bhp, go for it and remap now. If you want more, save up a bit and live with the 120 for now.

might just map it now as I only want abit more power, cash isn't about often atm so may just do that and concentrate on styling :)

Dont want to highjack thread but im looking to do similar

I just want a map. How does it effect mpg and will it effect the life time of the turbo?

haha, ive heard it could lower your mpg a good 5-10? dont know about you but from 45mpg that isn't too bad! (y) also, the turbo can cope with up to around 150bhp, but it may be best to upgrade to another such as a VL36 I believe?

I really recommend Tong at Tune4performance the remap was £200 and I got 141bhp and 174.4ft-lb of torque,

May not seem alot but you can really tell the difference, plus the driveablity is much better too.

141bhp? I was expecting a little more tbh  but then again ive heard of t-jets running 120bhp standard then others running around 140bhp!? still thats a good price for a map :D
