just got my car back today, after getting gearbox replaced under warranty. drives perfect, but now the air con doesnt work??

the button lights up, but no noticeable drop in revs when i press button, and blowers stay warm. is there anything i can check? as i have rang fiat dealer, but they cant look at it now till next wednesday! even though its clearly something theyve done.

what could have been disturbed when theyve had gearbox off?

I don't know but i'd guess they might have had to disturb the compressor to get the gearbox off. Assuming there is no click when you press the button then i'd check the wiring plug is connected.

If it is connected, is it getting a voltage?

well gearbox is on opposite side of engine in relation to air con compressor. i dont have a multimeter so cant check voltage

if there is no gas in the sysem the compressor will not switch on to protect it self, the air con gas has oil in it to keep the pump lubricated, hence why the system shuts down.

When mine said esp, hillholder etc had failed, It was my alternator that had died. It had obviously stopped charging at somepoint and my battery slowly died untill everything electrical went 'kaput'. Scary when your doing 70mph :p
