Well today has just been a day of new experiences. Rear windscreen wipers and squishers (forgot what wipers were in an MG) and tonight I paired my iphone to blue&me. I was so chuffed with myself as I never touch my phone in the car which is somewhat of a pain if i am running late/stuck in traffic (they are building a bypass on my route to work). I was so thrilled I rang my other half from my front drive. Woo hoo I have moved into the 21st century.

Now dare I try to make my ipod work in the car or will that just make me angry?

I have no idea who matthew is, but congrats on pairing your iPhone to blue&me, something I still haven't gotten round to doing after owning my GP for almost a year..

You can't really get an iPod to work with the standard head unit without a special adapter that is about £50.. Your best bet is to get a USB stick/flash drive whatever you wanna call it, put some music on that, and then plug it in to the USB port in the glovebox. That's what I do

think its a quote to stars in their eyes :p

My 58 plate works with my ipod classic without an adaptor perfectly, as long as the tracks are mp3 formatted - v5.5 of the B&M software i think I'm on - it just takes an absolute age to build the media library.

Well so far I have not managed to make the Ipod work in the car, I don't want to use a USB stick when I have a perfectly good expensive Ipod :bang:

you need to buy the usb adapter, its just like a USB pen that plugs into the BLUE&ME and into your USB cable. it converts the ipod format into something that can be read by the BLUE&ME.

i've tried plugging my iphone in just using the usb lead and it recognises it but can't read any of the music off it.

hope this helps

why dont people want to use a usb? I bought a £10 6gb stick and got all my music on it which is great, it means I can use my mp3 player for its intended use (as a portable music player) and I dont have to woory about charging the usb stick!

Ok I have a £300 ipod which is pretty much full and mostly used in the car so why would i want to pick a few songs from it and put them on a USB stick? The ipod would sit in a drawer and never be used if it didn't get used in teh car!

Least if the car gets broken into you'd only loose a cheap usb stick and Not the thick end of 360 quid worth of I pod and lead

I wouldn't leave the ipod in the car. Always goes with me when I get out of the car. There would be no point in having an ipod as only time it gets used is in the car I have a perfectly good stereo for the house!

USB stick would be my choice however you cant plug your headphones into it when you walk along or play games on it, watch videos or adjust EQ settings.

Not everyone wants (can be arse*) to look up, download, convert files to MP3.
