I have a 1.9 grande punto jtd. Ive had it remapped by Angel Tuning to 175bhp not 4 months ago and have probably covered around 3000 miles since.

The car is regularly serviced due to do me covering a lot of miles travelling to and from home.

Here's the list of problems I've accumulated if anyone could give me any feedback as to what is causing them I'd be more than grateful.

I have really bad turbo lag now after my remap the turbo was kicking in really quickly now I'm nearly at 2.5k rpm before it even kicks in. This started around a month ago. There isnt blue smoke so I assumed the turbo hasnt fully died.

The car will judder sometimes aswell just before the turbo kicks in it most of the time in 3rd or 4th pottering around town.

Feels like I'm driving a 1.0 corsa most of the time which is sad because I love this car.

There is a noise turning right coming from my front left hand wheel, I've taken the wheel off a fair few times hoping to find something but maybe I'm just blind and missing something. It doesnt matter what speed you go the noise is always there however the quicker I go louder the noise is.

Also, in 5th and 6th down country lanes if I'm sitting at 50 behind traffic there is a noise that sounds like an exhaust rattle, but the exhaust looks ok. I was curious as to maybe the low rpm was moving something in the engine bay?

If anyone has any ideas about any of these problems I'd be glad to hear them and know the costs of repairs if possible as well.

Cheers.

The turbo lag may be EGR valve clogged or failed, my car also had the stuttering issue before my EGR was changed, however it was usually just before the turbo kicked in and was under load (i.e driving uphill). Do you do mostly short journeys, around town etc?

3000 miles in 4 months is not majorly high mileage, especially for a diesel so this may contribute to the EGR failure. What do you do at service, just oil change?

Yes that sounds like the stuttering I have up hill under load just before the turbo but sometimes it may happen on flat. Well I bought it in February due to the fact I was driving around 3000 miles a month with a lancer evo and sadly petrol prices made me sell. But I moved closer to work so I am only using it really for 20 minute journeys and half the time I cant even plant my foot due to traffic.

Yes I changed oil every 5000 miles force of habit from old car. Also pads when they go and topped up whatever other fluids needed doing and cleaned filter. My mate had a garage up north so I used to just give it to him to sort out for me.

is there any reason it could have done that? Its an 08 plate with 55000 miles on so in diesel terms the engines practically new. Could the turbo be clogged and need cleaning due to excess carbon from the map?

Given it's done pretty reasonable mileage I'm not sure, however if you've not really been driving it for 4 months then that's quite ample for things to get clogged.

I'd never count a turbo as an engine component though. The engine is bulletproof, but the turbos are most certainly not.

Exhaust rattle could be a loose heat sheild.

What sort of noise from the wheel? A clonk, creek, knock, squeek?
