Anybody have any idea how long the battery in the key that operates the remote locking lasts? And any known problems with the key losing its coding when the battery is changed?

Key shouldn't loose its code I had no issue when I changed mine

How much is a new key like this? Or new casing at least. My casing is ****ed! Key no longer clips down at the side!!!

how do you change the battery? mines on the way out.

Do a search on ebay for "grande punto key cover" and you will be spoilt for choice Rod. I find they only last a year before breaking.


Chris; I think the battery sits under the cover that you get access to by opening the key (ready to stick into the ignition). Having said that I am tempted to get a Fiat agent to fit it in case the code dissapears. I think you will only have a set period of time to change the battey to avoid that happening.
