Hi,

Ive got the Grande Sport 130bhp and was just checking the tyres.

At the front I have 205/45 R17 88 W
At the back I have 205/45 R17 88 V

Couple of questions! Do I need to stick with V rated at the rear, comparing the prices of W and V and its quite considerable.

I seem to have a slow leak on one of the rear tyres, have to keep pumping it up every couple of weeks - loses upto 10 bar. Do places like kwik fit/national do slow puncture repairs? Ive checked and cant see any nails or anything similar.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Mick,

Certainly wont be going that fast! Im guessing it wouldnt cause if I changed both the back tyres to W's then? (About £100 cheaper per tyre then V's!)

£100 each cheaper? Lol! Your looking in the wrong places methinks! Just looked on bkackcircles, Uniroyal Rainsport 88v is £104 each, 88w is £111? So where's the huge price difference? The w rated is dearer....

If you change tyre rating from that of the manufacturer fitted equipment you should notify your insurer, technically a modification, you remember how arsey they got about Winter tyres...

Hi,

What brand/model are you running on?
What tyres are given in your OH? (Don’t think my edition shows Sporting)
Are you obliged to run on UHP tyres with a GP Sporting 130HP?

.

Losing 10 bar? Wow, I only put just over 2 in mine :) slow puncture may be cured with a can of tyre sealant. As for speed rating technicaly you should stick with the original, same goes for load rating too but no one ever checks these details.
