I have a Fiat Linea t-jet car which is the sedan ver. of the grand punto
and i want to know if i could fit esp in it as in Egypt fiat don't fit esp in any cars except grand t-jet and bravo 150hp only.
I know that i have to reflash the ECU with one that enables ESP
and the control unit of ESP
what i will have to do else (if fitting esp is possible)

Possible, but would require replacement of many parts. Body ECU, ABS pump/ECU, yaw and pitch sensors required, different wiring looms. As you have no ESP models in Egypt, you would have to import all the parts or perhaps buy though FIAT (lots of money). This undertaking would be difficult to recommend.

body ecu isn't all the same the different is the programing?
abs pump already there as my car have abs/ebd or it is different
yaw and pitch sensor i will get it
wirring musnt be a problem as i am an Electrical Engineering student and my friend is a mechanical engineer and worked for fiat about 10 years:D
importing is very easy as used is allot here and i have found linea s2000 here:confused: and new isn't a problem to import as my uncle has an import company:cool:

It is difficult to answer whether the body ECU is the same on normal and ESP cars as it is very hard to find something out like this without first hand experience of this conversion. I doubt a FIAT auto-electrician could tell you either. Perhaps they don't have the pins wired on the plugs that you need (more wires go from the body to ABS/ESP ECU)? If they do have the pins, do you have the knowledge/skill to flash the body ECU?

ABS pump and ECU are again "different". The ESP version ECU is quite different looking at the wiring diagrams, but what the differences are in the actual pumps I don't know.

If you are OK with wiring and you have a source of suitable connectors (perhaps from another car) then, as you say, the additional wiring won't be a problem that many would have.

This is certainly a voyage of discovery, particularly given your local access to parts, but if you really want to do it, you can I think. Prices for the sorts of new parts you might want are very high. It may cost as much as your car if you just bought all the ECUs and sensors from FIAT, unless FIATs in Egypt cost a fortune!

First thing is to examine all the wiring diagrams from eLearn, if you haven't already.

I will see the elearn but after getting my laptop from the service center wiring will not be a problem especially that my friend was a workshop manager there i will get every thing new from outside egypt as dealer here sales with twice price (oem brake pads cost as much as ebc red stuff pads)!!!!and will not bring spare parts by special order !!!! Reflashing isn't a problem either nor wiring pump i will search for it

got my laptop opened elearn
and found the only difference are
1) switch control panel (the asr off switch)
2) slewing sensor
and sure the ecu programing that's for electrical part mechanical didn't see yet

finally found the needed parts for my linea
