Can someone please explain how if you get a bigger tip, the sound the car produces will be deeper? In my opinion, because the engine has 65hp a big tip would be pointless, whereas If you got a smaller tip, the air would come out faster?

The tip doesnt make a difference, its down to the size of the pipe diameter from the cat to the backbox, the baffles that are used in the backbox and if there is a midbox or not. The tip wont affect the noise

Well the midbox would be standard, I reeeeaaalllllyyy want to avoid the boy racer noise, well the typical noise anyway, just a slight grumble would be nice.. Would a local dealer be able to offer advise? Or would I have to go to a modifying shop, to find professionals etc?

Dealer wont have a clue, you will need a custom exhaust fabricator. Because on fiats the exhaust is 1 piece back from the manifold its easier to just have a cat back exhaust than cut it after the mid box, wont be much more expensive

I know, just a little grumble :p

Well IMO a proper induction kit would give a nice throaty sound when you put your foot down, any modified exhaust sounds a bit chavvy really and ive even got one  i would start with a decent kit like the GSR or make your own from silicone pipes before you splash out on an exhaust

Would a K&N induction be okay?

I have yet to see a good one, the filter itself isnt important - where the filter is mounted and how the air gets to the manifold is what matters. I dont know much about the smaller fiat engines as i have a t-jet but you should have more than enough room to put the filter in a good place.

Nah…I would avoid the K&N.

The application for the GP is poor, as it sucks in hot air and you will lose power, and be even slower. :p

However if you can get ahold of or make a custom one similar to the GSR then the K&N Filter element will be good.

Check eBay from time to time, as they do pop up.
