Hi ALL

Recently my 06 plate grande punto has had the battery light coming off and on again- my power steering appears to be affected that when i am waiting at traffic lights my steering goes all heavy however when i am driving it is fine. I had the power steering column replaced about a year ago by Fiat does anyone know what this may be? I have checked the battery and it has a green circle which means its ok.:bang:

i must sound like a BBC repeat ,but either your battery or alternator at fault ..if your 100% sure your battery is ok ,to check the alternator is ok put a multimeter over the battery and check the charge rate at a fast idle ,your looking for a reading of at least 13.5 volts..i have a 06 grande and replaced my alternator ,belt and tensioner a couple of months ago ,and am still on the original factory battery

Do not rely on the little indicator on the battery it needs testing as does your alternator.....


any squeeling noises when this happens?
