Hi

Just driven home from work and noticed that my odometer display was flashing the mileage. The mileage was still being recorded, but thought it was weird - it must mean something? Also, even more weird when the name of a new song that was playing flashed up on the display, the odo display stopped flashing, but started again when the track display dissappered.

Has anyone else had this happen and what did it mean??

I'm driving a 2009 Punto GP

Thanks
Tim.

on a 2009 car this should have been done at the factory

has the car not been used for a while or done lots of short trips?

Hi Andy

The car is used every day and i travel approx 20miles each-way to work. Strangely, i was driving to work today and it has stopped and just gone back to normal. I'll mention it to the garage next time it's in for a service

mine did this twice when i first got the car, it only lasted for about half an hour each time before i got home and turned the car off, that was about 5 months ago and it hasnt done it since :slayer:

Mine did this too after purchase and after being sat for 6 months, it stopped shortly after.

This seems like a recurrent thing. I got a brand new GP in 2007 and this appeared like 3 or 4 times. it stops after an hour or so of driving...

Disconnect the battery for couple of seconds then reconnect and it should be gone, thats if it stays on too long, i think you may also of lost bluetooth function whilst it flashes.
There is an update for this.

Oho - guess what.

I have the flashy odometer syndrome on my Aug 2011 Fiat 500.

The garage sounds bemused and is talking about a software upgrade . . .

Surely they would have fixed a bug by now?

Is there some way I can find the release level of my Blue&Me module?

I had the same thing occur on a 60reg punto evo courtesy car recently. It would appear even recent software isn't perfect in this regard.

'A proxi alignment' - is this a procedure that could be handled by an owner?

Perhaps a power off reset for example . . .

The thought of a caulkhead motor mechanic reprogramming my Blue&Me strikes fear into the heart . . .

:)

I have recently purchased a stilo 1.4 2004, when viewing the car noticed its odo display was flashing, since we here so much about doggy dealers i worried it had been clocked? but the then owner said its been parked for a while that's why he thinks the odo display is flashing. Any advice on how to rectify will be gratefully received. Thanks

Need to get the body computer read, could well have been clock by the speedo cluster being replaced with one of lower mileage.
