i have just bought ebc disks and pads

i know my car is linea and it doesn't belong to here but almost no body go to linea section.
Ebc on the back of the disc pack mentioned that they have to be cleaned by meths or white spirit and i don't know what are these? (and not sure if i can found them in Egypt any way:bang can any one help what are these and are there any other chemical compound can i us?

you can use a brake cleaner
you will have meths(methylated spirit) or white spirit in Egypt
its a very common chemical

only southern puffs dilute their meths

I cant find Methylated Spirits i will search for break cleaner and a friend told me to use wd-40 as it contains 50% Methylated Spirits

dont use wd-40 the other 50% will leave them greasy

You will surely find white spirit.

It's the transparent liquid used as solvent in paint.

you could also use a degreaser or washing up liquid (dish soap) the new discs come covered in a thin oil to stop them rusting whilst in storage....

I would have thought that white spirit would have contained oils too, If you do use that give them a wash down with washing up liquid as well to be on the safe side

Impatiently waiting

Looking forward to getting them on.

All in readiness for a remap within the next month or two - hopefully!

I have my ebc disks and greenstuff pads +-2 months on my tjet More brakepower, my direction indicators go faster on with fast breaking..

thanks and i have to go to the dealer (who i have major problems with them and going to see the ceo next week) because no one else have the special tool for fitting the rear brake pads
do you know any one selling it on the net

I have a special tool for it..
They sell it in the local carshop here..

You must screw it between the caliper and the piston

could you tell me it's name and a pic for it to try to find it here

I didn't need to use the calliper tool, just a pair of long nose pliers and brute force. Who said us sutherners are softies?:devil:
