Hi, i have a 2009 gp eleganza with cruise control that will not work when set travling down the road..

When you switch the cruise on the light on the dash lights up an it says cruise on in the lcd display.. Once you have switched it on with the engine running it will not switch off again on the switch (the light stays on)The light will turn off once you switch off engine and start it back up with the cruise turned off..

Any ideas ? Thanks

Hi

I know that was more than 2 years ago. Do you remember if you only change battery or did something else.
I have the same problem - crusade speed not work and when engine is on is not possible switch it off.

Exactly the same problem also on 2010 punto evo. Anyone any ideas. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. It has been working fine then started becoming intermittent now does not work at all.. If you have the ignition on and turn the cruise control on and off the light on the dash of goes on and off. However if you start the engine and turn the cruise control on the light comes on correcty but you doesn't go of when you switch the cruise control of.
And the cruise control does not work

My diagnostic unit does not show any fault although it is not a Full Fiat unit.
Just surprised if it is a switch that it would show up like this.

Thanks. It's actually my daughters car who lives in Stourbridge. She is with me at the moment tried disconnecting battery for a few hours. No luck. Would like to test the clutch switch but not easy to test. Can see it but that's about it. Thanks anyway

We are in Cornwall for the weekend and I live in Gloucestershire

Hello,

exactly same problem here. Any news how to fix this?

I tried everything to get it working. Ended up taking it to a friendly dealer and they decided it must be the column switch so fitted a new switch and it didn't make any difference then the put the old one back and sent the car to their other depot who had a specialist in that day and it was working when it got there. So none the wiser as to what it was. Nothing showed on the tester. A common problem is apparently the brake or clutch switches so worth checking those.

hey eskdale,

thank` s for the fast response!
I placed a new column with cruise control 3 days ago (my car didn` t have cruise control from factory). I did the proxy alignment thing from MES. The 1st day, cc was working ok (hm... not 100% ok, even if i was decreasing the speed from the cc switch, vehicle` s speed was going up  but except that it was fine :p )

But now, only the green light comes up. No other reaction from the cc switch.

The interesting situation with ours was

The with the ignition on, the cruise control switch would turn the indicator light on and off but once you started the engine the cruise control light would come on once when you turn the column switch to on, But you could not turn it off again without turning the ignition off.. This must indicate something

I was just logging my GP and i came up with this behavior of the clutch:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg6W6ZTsL5U (sorry for the bad vdo quality)

cc can be disabled by turning the switch off, ignition off, braking or when you press the clutch! Didn` t try it on the road to see if it works now, but i` ll do it tomorrow.

No need to completely remove the switch.

Pull the red piece out and then pull the moving part out too. Let the clutch in slowly. Then the switch is adjusted. Push the red part in again and you are done. (If the switch is working ok at least)
