Help

The heater blower on my 57 reg Punto initially stopped working on setting 4, now it has packed up completely and doesn't work on any settings, hot or cold air.

A local garage has said it's not the fuse.

Any suggestions as to wheteher it's the actual heater motor or the resistor pack thats faulty

Thanks in advance

Make sure there is adequate coolant in the engine and if it is low refill and bleed it properly. Low coolant will quickly damage the engine so find out why its leaking. Of course it might be fine but you must check it.

If that is ok it could be the heater fan motor or the switch or the speed control resistors. Its a case of working through with a test meter.

Mine had the same problem, I've dicovered the cable connection has burnt underneath the glovebox.....get some contact cleaner spray and try to move the connector in different angles....hope it will work out for you.

Hello forum,

I've have just had the heater blower not working, and found the information about bad connectors. (The aircond also stops working, compressor not running).

My wires was mis-colored, so I've replaced part of the wire, and installed "spade" (not sure this is the correct english name) connectors instead, all OK again.

I just wonder what the "cluster" that is between the power supply wire and the blower motor, see the picture. Grey connector is power, black connector goes to blower motor in opposite end.
There is also a tiny connector (to the right om the picture), 2 small wires.
Opposite site is with aluminum cooling fins, cooled by the blower, in the blower plenum.

Resistor? (if resistor, what is the small connector to right for?)

The car is a 1.3 MJT with 2 zone aircond.

yes it's the 'variable' resistor, similar to those fitted to older scudos.
Thank you :D

What about the small connector on left side of the resistor (hard to see on my dark picture)... is it a sensor to the aircond system?

..anyway, is there a wiring diagram available for the car, somewhere on the Internet?
