Hi there, my apologies if this has been mentioned in the past, but I couldn't find a search function on the forums.

I want to set the time in my Grande Punto, its a 60 plate with only 3000 miles on the clock, but the clock is an hour behind. When I press the menu button to get up the options, including the one to alter the clock, it beeps but nothing else happens. I have tried with a variety of different combinations of the keys orientation with respect to the ignition. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks :D

hello fellows and welcome to the forum :wave:

the search is located in the red bar at the top of each page you can select advanced search from the drop down search menu and do an "advanced" search which you can narrow down to car specific sections...

when you are setting the clock are you trying to do it with the ignition turned on as some options are only accessible when the car is off due to safety (such as trying to set it when your doing 70mph on the motorway ;) )

if you have not got the original owners handbook you can view it here

(page 20 of the PDF ((page 19 of the owners book))

The menu comprises a series of functions
arranged in a “circular fashion” which can
be selected through buttons + and – to
access the different select operations and
settings (setup) given in the following paragraphs.
The setup menu can be activated by pressing
briefly button MENU ESC.
Single presses on buttons + and – will
scroll the setup menu options.
Handling modes differ with each other according
to the characteristic of the option
selected.
Selecting a menu option
– press briefly button MENU ESC to select
the menu option to set;
– press buttons + and – (by single presses)
to select the new setting;
– press briefly button MENU ESC to
store the new setting and to go back to
the previously selected menu option.
Selecting “Set Clock”
– briefly press button MENU ESC to select
the first value to change (hours);
– press buttons + and – (by single presses)
to select the new setting;
– briefly press button MENU ESC to
store the new setting and to go to the
next setup menu option (minutes);
– after setting the values with the same
procedure, you’ll go back to the menu option
previously selected.

Thanks for the warm welcome :) I found the search function shortly after I posted this and have spent that last 30 minutes trying to find a similar problem, but to no avail :(

I do have the handbook and followed the instructions on how to change the clock, however pressing the menu button has no effect regardless of wether the key is in or out of the ignition, or whether the car is stationary with the engine on or moving. All I get whilst pressing the menu button is a rather frustrating beep and no action.

That's great thank you! You didn't have to go to all that effort, but I'm very appreciative! I had tried exactly what you demonstrated in the video before and it didn't work, but presumably I had done something wrong as it worked on the second attempt.

Many many thanks. :D
