Hi fella's

Does anybody know how to remove the fuse box in the engine compartment and replace. If so how hard is it? Also does anybody know a price for a new box or should I just buy a second hand one? I have water ingress and its mushed all the bottom tier fuses. Boo!

have you tryed using contact cleaner on all the corroded bits, if you can clean the connections up and seal the box then you will be ok. The last thing you want to do is to change the fuse box unless you realy have to.

I cleaned it up with a wire brush but one of the fuses had gone. Tried to pull it with fuse pullers and it just snapped off. Now im unsure how to extract the pins. Worried about pulling any other fuses now. I could maybe pull the pins with some long nose pliers but dont hold out much hope. Am concerned as the fuel pump fuse is down there and looks a bit ropey. Can get away with blown aircon etc but the fuel pump going will leave me stranded. Is the fuse box difficult to replace?

I take it nobody knows/or has had to remove the fuse box under the bonnet? Waiting on one being delivered from a scrappy, may get a better idea once it arrives and I can look at it underneath.

Battery earth clamp off then

pull it up off its rubbers and unplug the cable multi plugs on the underside i think.....

ensure your replacement has the same relays and fuses in as yours

then plug in and press it back on its rubbers and reattach battery and pray it works ;)

cost me £500 to get mine replaced at dealers, now I have a custom cover that I made for it!

SWMBO's GP 1.4 activ sport is with the dealer now after a series of electrical gremlins...

Quoting me £430 to replace the fusebox which has got water damage and is beyond cleaning up...

Some questions:

1) is this something I can DIY - fairly handy with a spanner

2) anyone know a part number - FIAT quoting 230 for the part itself. If I can get a spare / aftermarket / reconditioned one and bolt it on and plug it in, then thatll save some cash (we are getting married in may so could do without spending £500!)

:(

hello,

ive had to replace my fuse box and im thinking baout a custom cover as no one seems to know how the water is getting in. What cover did you make???
