Hi :)

I've been considering getting a 2006 GP 1.3M-Jet dualogic. I had a 2008 Prius until a few weeks ago, although an SUV slammed into it while my Prius was writing it off :( It's front wheels got slammed into the gutter ruining the axle, suspension, and the other side had frame damage and the passenger side door was wrecked.

I'm still on my Provisional license (i'm 17), and as i went for my driving test in an Auto, i can drive a manual until 1 year after my test...

So that means i need an Auto. What is the dualogic like to drive? does it operate like a normal auto? I've read that they can be fairly jerky and slow to decide which gear it should be in, is this correct? furthermore, are there any operational/instructional videos detailing how it operates, drives and how it shifts in manual mode?

The car i'm looking at is in another state, so i haven't found the time to inspect it yet, although it has 60,000km, how reliable is the dualogic gearbox on a car with this mileage outside of warranty? can i expect to have troubles?

Thanks :)

I have a punto evo dualogic and my gearbox does get consfused sometimes but other times its great fun. It works just like a auto then you can flick it over to manual mode and you just hit the stick up or down depending on whether you are going up or down gears. I only ever use manual when I want to drive a little bit quicker as you can choose when to change gear. Im not sure how the gearbox would last as mine is only 9 weeks old. Hope I helped
