Software update...excess radiation

Hi All,

As from my other thread, im getting the common "excess radiation" warning.

Wondering if someone can help...

Evanshalshaw (the garage I purchased from last wednesday) have told me to go to fiat direct.

Been to them, and they want 70 for diagnostic due to the fact they cant request that Evans' pay for something they are not sure of...they need the problem in stone/writing.

They have told me that Evans will most likely not pay for this and MAY only pay for the update once a diagnostic is carried out.

I refuse to pay for this or the update and I just want to know where I stand with regards to legailty before I steam down to the garage friday.

I have mechanical breakdown warranty but that does not cover this.

I appreciate any replies

I knew mine was fibbing cos it always happened from cold or warm, never when hot lol! So if it happens when the engine is hot maybe have a re-think?

Re: Software update...excess radiation

Remind Evans Halshaw you have 28 days to return the car for a full refund minus a couple of charges.

I done that when my Blue and Me wouldn't work, they wanted to fit a Parrot instead, after a few minutes of talking they agreed to pay for a new system to be fitted at a Fiat MD. Took it there and asked them to check the car over for other things, ended up costing Evans Halshaw alot more than the Blue and Me.

If you aren't happy and they won't do anything about it, just tell them you intend to return the car, there is no point living with something even if it is the most minor problem, if you knew about the problem you wouldn't of bought the car!

Do you live in Fukushima? Or Chernobyl?

Maybe we're not giving FIAT enough credit...

Maybe that'll be Fiat's future engine line-up - miniature nuclear powerstations, will power your house when you park up at home, too

Re: Software update...excess radiation

Haha!!

I meant excess radiation...temperature lol.

it appears like this "excess radiation,,,,temperature,,,please stop &,,,turn off,,,engine" lol. hence why I only put the first bit

That aside, I will trundle down today and see what they have to say

Thanks for the replies, I just didnt want to go down and look like a tit with no legal backup

some ECU's cannot be updated and need a new ECU, there are loads of threads on this if you search.
