just fitted tow bar to 1.2 grande punto everything fine except when i apply the brakes right hand brake light on car goes out and so does trailer brake lights socket is connected to right hand brake light on car can anyone help please?

Surely you are not going to tow anything heavy with a 1.2?

have you wired this in via a 7 way can multiplex relay?

if this only happens with the trailer on first check would be your trailer electrics are not putting a short on your car but the relay unit will totally protect and isolate the Cars body computer which controls the lights and supply power from its own source keeping everything separate..

Im new here and am also having this problem however i didnt install the towbar and electrics. All lights and audible warning pack works apart from brake lights on trailer board which just flash on then off and the nearside brake light goes out and brings up the check lights sign up on dash. Any help greatly apreciated
