i have taken the plastic tray out and there is a crazy amount of space in there.

I have made my own sub box before my question is what is needed to run a sub from the gp head unit and have it in the boot.

cheers all

you would need sub amp wiring kit ectt... and a rca lead theres a guidee in the guide section under grande punto on how to wire a rca lead in

You'll need a sub, amp, and what's known as a high line input. As the standard HU has no pre outs, the high line level converter uses the existing wiring to power an amp.

You don't necessarily need to amp the front speakers, they perform well enough to keep up with an amped sub.

As for the box, make it with as many sides as possible. You'll find it hard to make a cylinder that's sealed, and if your putting a square box in a round hole there'll be loads of wasted space in the wheel well. If you make it hexagonal or octagonal then there is less wasted space.

I'll try and get this moved the the ICE section where you'll get better info ;)

i kept my standard head unit and i used a low level converter (has 4 speaker wires on one end and RCAs on the other)
siply wire that to rear speaker connectors,
thn run the RCAs to the boot.

next you need to run the remote cable which turns the amp on when the cars on. i attached mine to the autant(auto antenna) port on HU. and run that to the back of the car.

then you need to run the power cable from battery to amp
and also find a sufficient earthing point(y)

oh and if u put a sub in the wheel well u will have to cut off the threaded bar in the middle.

then when done enjoy the BOOM!!!:p

wheel well is too small to run anything bigger than an 8" sub.

Unless you build it in the right shaped box. Normally to get the volume you need the box to be you have to build it higher than the wheel well and build a false floor up to the level of the box.

This isn't all bad however, it gives you room to hide you amps and wiring, as long as you find a way to keep them cool.
