Tuning Changing turbo?

Tuning Changing turbo?

If your using it to go for silly power such as 200bhp+ you will need a nice new diff, clutch and flywheel. I imagine new downpipe will be needed to due to size of turbo.

I currently have a Forge intercooler, and a bailey dumpvalve. I was looking on youtube and noticed a grande punto with one of these fitted...

It is not the eseesse unit so am wondering if anyone knows what else would be needed to fit this?

Oil cooled bearings on the one u shown, think a mechanic I know said the grande T-Jet turbos are water cooled, so you would need to also fit a system to cool it. (Can someone else confirm that it is water cooled)

It doesnt have a Diff does it?

It has a standard locked diff, what the poster is saying is that he might want to consider upgrading the diff to a LSD put the power down at around 200bhp, dont know if one is avalliable for the sporting box though

No,only oil like all the GT20 family.

Can be used, but will increase oil temperature.

seriously? thats suprising for a higher output unit,

so seperate low down oil cooler needed

It's usually used in diesel engines.

Yeah, oil cooler would be good but if it was me,I wouldn't put an oil cooled turbo in my engine.

Bad thing is if you go with garrett they only have smaller (gt1548) or bigger (gt2548+) turbochargers that are watercooled.

It's all up to the power you want..

Yeah, although you can use an adapter plate on the stock manifold ;)

2554 is good but you have to live with turbo lag at low rpm...

(btw I mistyped at my last post,there's no 2548,it's the 2554 :p )
