Tuning Lets see how it goes..

admanrv let me summarise this for you. buy the box for a £100 or get a remap for £200+ , i dont know how much more tacit knowledge is needed for such a small choice.

nigel mansell is coming over to the city soon for a charity round of golf, maybe i could tap him up for some of williams tuning secrets lol.

tmc, after reading your posts even i have a basic understanding of tuning boxes / remaps so cheers for that, i can hold a chat with my fellow car loving lads at work, without getting lost, all credit to you :)

Thanks Flint, I didn't want to say any more because it was starting to get me depressed ;)

No **** Sherlock :D (too much for you ;)), like i've said my issue isnt buying the box is the tuning box vs remap.

LOL, i doubt nigel mansell will know much about tuning. Grooming his moustache, car insurance and driving well - he will.

Regarding the box, i already am. Got the go ahead to buy the box so i'll buying it once i get the money off my relative and will dyno it (mainly for my peice of mind, i will hook EGT sensor etc). I never said it will not make power.

£100 shipped is worth a punt.

TMC, dont get depressed its banter plus you'll be better prepared next time ;)

I can see wher admanrv is comin from, wel from the little i kno. My mates ave mentioned stuff like this on ther Vx astra 1.7s.

Sum of the stuff admanrv talks about is ova my head but he does make sum gud points and it does seem like tmc have gone back on wot they said aboiut a remap being as good as a tuning box.

TMC, i have a 75bhp gp wot power will i likely get or, wots the best setting for mpg, how much wil i get?

gsalini, how has ur box performed?, is it any good?

thx

Sorry but I don't know what you mean about going back on what I said, you obviously haven't read all the posts.

Let me explain one last time:

I can get as good a result as the majority of remaps from well known companies if I used our multi channel box to alter fuelling and turbo pressure, however this is much more expensive and most people driving JTD's will not pay £300 for it so for this engine I chose to use the fuel control box, it gives very good results around 20% gains, enough to please 99% of people and for only £99. On Abarth 500's our multi channel box is getting even better results than remaps from many major tuners.

The single channel kit is almost a third of the cost of a remap so pound for pound is very good value. I've explained in great detail how it works I don't know what more you want aside from me dismantling one and naming every component used to build it

I won't comment on this subject any further, I think the information I have given is very comprehensive and alot more than most companies would even attempt to give you.

You also ask what MPG you will get, no one can answer that question, I don't know how you drive, where you live etc. You could live up in the mountains and drive flat out everywhere. The box gives more low rpm power and torque so if driven correctly better mpg can be acheived through not revving the engine and less gear changes but no one in the world can give you an exact figure, its driver dependant.

is that because you is he? strange how you are both using the same pc
Jesus Dave the plot thickens.....

There was me thinking two people didn't understand but the two people were the same person.

Sorry I don't have a punto. We have a multipla and stumbled across this thread as I searched about boxes vs remaps...

However this is the funniest thing I have ever seen on the fiat forum, Somebody having two accounts so they can talk to themselves and agree with everything they say.

Sorry fella but whoever you are you need to get out more.
