hi all,

just wondering if anyone had found anyother ways of getting a ipod to work im a fiat grande punto rather than the fiat ipod adapter?

the reason im looking is i found the adapter rather expensive for what it is but i decided to go for it but after going back to the dealer 5-6 times they said i needed a part for my car that cost £75 because it wasnt in my 3rd year warrenty so i told them to get stuffed basicly and am now on the hunt for another option..

i tried a AUX lead that plugs into my HU but because i have Blue&Me this was plugged into the AUX input in my HU so was abit of a dead end once again...

Just buy a cheap second hand head unit that has a ipod link and fit that. Even a cheap head unit will sound better than the standard head unit.

I take it from your name that you indeed have a 58plate grande? If so just update to blue&me 5.5 and it'll play stuff off an ipod without any adaptor necessary. The files do have to be in mp3 format rather than apples own aac (i think thats it) and depending on how much music you have on it it will take a while to build the library upon connection but you should be able to hit random and it should play something. It works like that when I used to have my ipod in mine (a 58 plate t-jet).

yeh 58 plate grande punto GP sounds like a plan to me never thought about doing it that way, did you just use a standard ipod lead and connect it into the USB slot in the car? and iv got about 350songs.
