I have been quoted £300 to map my mjet, so when i saw this tuning box for less then £100 it made me think is this to good to be true. Has any body on there brought one ?

They have got very good feed back for the box and offer 30 days money back garenty. They are claiming 30 bhp increase and 64 Nm of torque increase this seems alot i would be happy with half these figares for that money. I was thinking that i could get mine rollin roaded before and after installing the box so i can see what the increases are if any and if there isn't any increases then i can send it back for a full money back refund.

I must admit at the moment i am tempted to get one in the new year after i have had it serviced and moted, Opinions/ experiances needed please.

Not got one of those so cant really help but what about a box from TMC? Plenty of good reviews on here. They are an official trader on here too. I actually ordered one yesterday for my 1.3 Mjet. Looking forward to its arrival and just hoping the weather doesnt hold it up too much! Also my insurance company havent charged me anything for adding it to my policy!(y)

I havn't heard of them i will take a look, these tuning boxes do sound to good to be true to me tho offering power, torque and mpg increases for around a hundred quid. I would be interested to know your experiances when you have fitted it.

Do a search for TMC mate. Plenty of threads with plenty of opinions on here very few of them negative.
 
I have been reading a few opinions on the forum and although people think that mapping will give better results as the tuning boxes on ebay are 66% cheaper than a map but give nearly as much power they seem a good option to me.

TMC are very expensive tho £175 for a 1.9 mjet
 
£175 isnt expensive for something that has been tested. Yeah you could go and buy a £99 one but how do you know its actually doing anything and how do you know if it is doing something its not running a map which is seriously gonna mess your car up?

That is why i am going to get the car rollin roaded before and after so i can check for increases. As for being tested the company has got 2000 positive feedback about this product thats alot of people that have brought it, liked it and had no problems.
I know it can be the case where you get what you pay for but sometimes you are just paying for the name or just propping up a companys inflated profit margins. A good example is buying a EGR, one brought from fiat will get you back £150 but buy the exact same one from vaxhaul and it's £99.
 
Majority of the feedback is about the product being delivered on time and as described. Not saying how good it is. Your car and your choice but i know what my money would be going on :)

Yes. I have got one. Bought it some 6 months ago (http://www.theitalianbox.eu/) no longer on ebay. Works a treat. Better fuel economy, increased performance, and smoother power delivery. Just ignore the patronising responses from some of the dinasaurs on the site. They seem to believe that a remap is the only way to go, and that people only leave feedback when the postman delivers the goods!!!
PS Cost me £55.

Thats great i am glad to hear to had no problems with yours, you have put my mind to rest. Althought they may not offer the power increases of a map i do think they offer value for money and are alot easyer to remove than a map.

Did you find it easy to install and what where your mpg increases ?

Very easy to install. MPG has gone from 38 MPG to about 44 MPG. Not as indicated by computer(as computer very inaccurate) it shows 42 MPG to 50 MPG (no way).

so in other words you have no idea what you are talking about:rolleyes: how do you know that the map on that box is the same as the one you have? you dont that is why other have said to go for the tmc box as it will have the same map as other have tried and with the seller also being a member here full after sales support,

Dave, you are well out of order. I was merely stating that I bought a tuning box, and it worked.

they can also just be a 10p resistor in a box! that is why the other have given the advice they have, so as to make sure the op doesn't get ripped off. others have read all the feedback on ebay saying its arrived but it is no indication to what the product is like,
