That would be much appreciated, just out of interest, what equipment is required? I wouldnt mind having a go if it didnt cost too much but its finding the time and patience due to work etc :(

Pretty much need an ELM327 scanner and a laptop with hyperterminal (or other software) to show you the data being passed around.

Ordered the scanner because i think it could be useful in the future, im going to have a play around with it though.

I may struggle with the programming though...

You may also become a better programmer after all this ;)

Had loads of group work due in over Easter etc. straight into exams now. I will have plenty of time over summer to have a play, I've not forgotten! :)

Hi guys,

Sorry to resurrect a long dead thread; bus is there any update to this?

thanks,
Madhu.

Hi,

Very nice work!
From the research you made, is there any chance to get from the CANBUS B the Odometer information and the trip computer data? I am scaning the CANBus B from a Punto but i think the odometer information it is not present on this CANbus node. Do you know anything about this? The last Puntos, has29bit/500kB CAN frames on pin 6 and 14. Can you help me?

I am a professional PCB layout chap, so given the circuits diagram and parts list, some basic instructions on whats wanted I could easily make the data for the PCB.

They can then be cheaply obtained through one of the many manufacturers around the world.
(Best obtained in bulk and resold as individuals).

Hi all, congrats for the nice job!
Anyone knows how can I find the FIAT specific OBD II PIDs? (y)

Pretty impressive!
Do you think a Punto mk2 or mk2/b dashboard could have such extra features?

Any one help. I have a 56 plate fiat grande punto
And all the the warning symbols have come on the dashboard
At first it was a orange seat like light now and here all on

Waoww! you suceeded in unburrying an 8 years post !! And it is actually VERY interesting, I hope Siomeone is still watching the forum so he can show us more amazing things…

Regarding your Christmas tree issue I would first check for the traditional (and well documented) cable/ground/battery issue …
