we need a bit more information than that what Grande punto is it exactly petrol or diesel engine size would be a good start....
Mine is a Euro IV 1.4L 16 V FIRE petrol engine(90 Bhp & 115 NM).
Odometer reading: 1100 km. I am using normal unleaded petrol as mentioned by manufaturer.
I have observed the problem occuring in three diffrent situations as given below
1. While idling after cold start in morning around 28-30deg C, after 50 sec EOBD light blink once and then goes away. This was happening almost every cold start and now a days not occurring every day. Once when I tried after keeping the vehicle in hot sun for 4 hours this didn't occur.
2. While taking the vehicle after cold start, without idling, in 2nd or 3rd gear vehicle jumps ahead as if a sudden forward kick has been given. During this time the EOBD light blinks and the tacho meter needle shoots up. I have observed(not always) the engine temperature also shooting up and then coming to normal in a sec. All happening simultaneously.
3. While turning on vehicle (MAR position) after the injector comes to its normal position(when the sound stops)I am getting the following message 'Excess radiator Fluid temp" "turn off engine". Some times temperature needle shoots up and come back to the minimum or normal position depending on actual engine temperature. This is not happening always. Once this happen immediately after ignition and stayed for some time till I stopped the engine. Then when I immediately stated again the problem was not there.
I am from India and Fiat sell cars through TATA motors who also do servicing for FIAT. Those people are not very well experienced to deal with complicated technical problem. One I had taken the vehicle to the service station and they did the computer diagnosis and couldn't find any error. Now I have to bring this issue to Fiat experts for solution. I haven't read about this kind of issue in any Fiat users Forum.
I have to say that the car is perfectly OK other than this warning light issue. During the initial acceleration(even with a light foot) there is a growling but it looks it is typical of Fiat petrol engines.
