hi i hav a 56 plate 1.2 grade punto and i am having problems with the heaters they are just not working at all any suggestions please ?

Chap on here the other day with the same problem found that his dear lady wife had kicked out the fan connector in the footwell.

Oh - and check the fuse, innit?

I had this last week it will prob be the wiring loom just behind the glove box in the passenger footwell it is a five or six wire connector disconect and re-conect or have a good play with it and you should be okay

According to my manual (2010) it's fuse 10 in the dashboard fuse box - by your right knee. 7.5 amps. It's the same fuse as the reverse light, so if your car is the same, and the reverse light works, it's not the fuse. But your car may be different - check all the fuses?

I had a problem with the fan not running. I tested to make sure i had 12 Volts to the motor and then took the motor/fan out. I then stripped and cleaned it with electrical cleaner. Loads of dirt came out, then i connected the multi plug back up and tried it whilst i held it in my hand. It's been ok since and that was 4 weeks ago.

hence 'kicking it', the brushes/slip rings get dirty and loose contact and as you rightly say a clean restores things for awhile.

Have the same problem and this started yesterday. Now I have checked the fuse and it seems ok. The only thing I seem to find is under the passenger footwell to the drivers side coming from the middle section of the car where the heater control panel is, I seem to have a very thing small yellow wire which is lying free and at the end of it there seems to be a small clear plastic bit but I am not sure if this should be connected to anything on the back of the heater controls? Any help or advice from this point? (Oh and sorry for the poor efforts of giving my best description of the yellow cable)

Do you have an aftermarket radio? If so the yellow wire could be the spare power feed wire.

Not that I am aware of, just a standard fitted radio that has always been there. Its a 2007 reg grande punto I have at present. Struggling to locate the exact fuse (What will the description be in the hand book for the blowers/heaters? Really is a pain in the butt. Really want it fixed ASAP.

I've got exactly same problem as you... same car as well... I've looked at the handbook several times at the fuses section, there isn't 1 description that refers to heaters or blowers. But saying that there was a clicking noise for a few weeks when heaters were switched on so I'm thinking maybe heater motor has packed up. Don't really wanna take this to garage as bet get ripped off!!

Any1 out there know which fuse number it is and in which fuse compartment??? my last thing to try as cable underneath in passenger footwell is definately connected ok! Any help much appreciated!

A simple circuit tester will confirm if there is power at the motor.
If the there is and the motor is gone it is only 3 bolts to remove it. If its clicking there could be some debris in the motor - take it off and have a look.

I have the same Problem on an 07 Grande Punto, i've replaced resistor and motor and still nothing? cant seem to identify What fuse it is from the handbook?(n)
