Re: 1.9 Mjet engine failure

It needs a trip to fiat dealer fullstop or a private independant specialist with an Examiner HD. A cheapo fault reader ain't going to able to do what D4nny8oy just explained in post #89

FIATECUSCAN alongside an ELM327 1.4 or 1.4b device also has the required functionality to carry this out on the 1.9 JTDm however not currently on the GP section. The Bravo 1.9 JTDm 8v has the same ECU and is supported though a small notification warns you that this isnt 100% the ECU expected.

Re: 1.9 Mjet engine failure

It's ok, it's booked into fiat tomorrow. It wasn't going to do any harm plugging in his 'cheap' 1000 scanner to see if something like a lamda sensor was faulty, to save the money of fiat doing it!

Will see what happens tomorrow.

Re: 1.9 Mjet engine failure

All sorted.

Matt @ Mill Lane Aldershot was very helpful.

Along with resetting the ecu and injectors, there was an EGR issue, which when blanked off it ran perfectly. The EGR fitted at the moment is from the new engine, so I'll swap back to my original EGR and hopefully all will be sorted.

Thanks to everyone for their help and advice over the last few months!

Cheers guys

Nice one I'm sure a lot of people would have given up at the first hurdle .

Re: 1.9 Mjet engine failure

Thanks - to be fair it was fairly simple, just lots of bits!

Certainly not as quick was my 45 minute engine change on my F3 car last year at Magny Cours 1hour before a race!

Without the egr playing up, I think it would have been fine, but I'm kind of glad that its been to Fiat, just for reassurance.

Fingers crossed for MOT tomorrow!
