General Advice on tyre choice / size

Hi Guys I drive a 1.4 16valve sporting "starjet". Am i okay to go up to 215"s from my 205/45 17"'s.

I'm probably going to go for the bridgestone potenza's again just wondering if going up a size would make the ride a bit less choppier

Yeah it's worked fine with me on my 1.9, actully makes a massive difference on comfort! More grip too I'd imaging

No not more grip, too wide for the 1.4 na, will struggle to heat them up properly.

I'd stick with 205-45-17, there are many tires out there that will be quieter/more comfortable than the potenzas

I've had good luck so far with hankook ventus v12... decent price, seems to grip as well as the potenzas but quieter and more compliant

I thought the potenzas were pretty poor, I'm going for Kuhmo KU31 next.

Ive just had my fronts replaced at 18500 miles with Potenzas,

Ive found them to be brilliant tyres, i only expected them to last 13k or so with my driving style.

The grip is excellent, no understeer at all unless you go into corners too fast or dont balance it.

Only issue i have is the excessive tyre noise, but just turn the stereo up :slayer:

i swear by toyo t1r proxes, wanting to give another tyre a try and thinking of widening tyre width to 215, but was told it wudnt be worth it, this true?
