just testing the water here, been told that removing the dpf and a suited map could give up to 15bhp gains!

anyone have any experiance with dpfs?

Is your car unlucky enough to have a DPF then? I know it's a bit hit and miss with the GP's

Don't know about gains personally but the DPF should only make any large amount of difference when it's in it's burn cycle - which should be rare if the car is used a lot...

I actuly though all 2007 onward gps had the dpf, so maybe it doesn't have it lol isthere any way of knowing?

Get under and have a look?

Mines an 08 and hasn't got a dpf, you'd know if you had one.

mines an 07 and dosent have one and like matt said you would know as they charge for calibrating them at service intervals, etc.

think im going to be moving away from diesel for next car with all new diesels having DPF's now dam, emission regs! plus I dont do the mileage now so it would just get f**ked up

Dont know about calibrating, but when I've had last two services they always ask if I have a dpf as if you do have one it changes the frequency of oil changes, and thus different service times and price. Why do fiat ask the customer if they have a dpf? You tell me! I just drive the barstard, I didn't build it. Check my damn chassis number you incompetent imbeciles.

there is no reason to charge anymore at service for DPF vehicles, only difference is the oil deg counter is checked to see if an oil change is due however the diag equipment is connected anyway to reset service counter so dealer cant even realistically charge for this!

Because SIGI doesn't tell you if it's got a DPF.

Only way the Dealer can tell is to either ask the customer, or check for the telltale signs when they get it in.

pretty easy to tell if you look under the car. Looks like its got an extra cat in the middle front section of the exhaust.

£600 option if my memory serves me right when i got mine.

So if it has 2 cats it's got a dpf, if only 1 cat it hasn't

The cat is on the down pipe and the DPF is under car and looks like this.

tell me if im being stupid but would you know you had one because of the lack of smoke? never used to get any smoke before remap, always thought i had one on as standard

DPF removal software is available.

Let me know if you would like any advice.

I was told there's two cats, a pre-cat on the down pipe and one under ther car.

I had this one removed last week so could that of been the dpf?

Last time I checked there were two exhausts for the GPS Mjet, one with DPF and one without.

The one without had two cats and I think the DPF version also has a second that is built into the DPF unit? Can't remember!

Does anyone have a photo of how the dpf exhaust sytem looks so i can compare?

Had a look under the GPS this morning and can confirm that there are two CAT's and two silencers on the standard exhaust... What a waste of money!!
