Well after the dealer changed my n/s swinging arm, the grinding noise still hasnt been sorted. Rather than take it back to them (to leave more holes in my pocket) i decided to do my own diagnosis (from the help of the forum) and im gna buy the top mountings and get them changed at a local garage, to see if it cures the problem. Now would it be just the mounts i would have to change, or should i go for the bearings also?!

all help appreciated (y)

there is only one component to change at the top and thats the strut top bearings, they are **** easy to change and Im 99% sure this will cure your problem

Update.

Strut mounts fitted, tracking done and a small matter of a new anti roll bar link fitted (apparently, it was sheered of at the bolt from damage). No Knocking noise, no veering to the left, problem sorted.
:)

Its a bit worrying, after all the trips to the main dealer, they could not find/diagnose this problem (n)

Ahwell, all props/thanks to the forum.
