Thought I put a list of the faults I have experienced with my 06 JTD Sporting over 67k miles, hopefully other forum members will advise me what to expect to go wrong next!

• misaligned rear screen. Realigned
• bit of paint missing form rear o/s bumper. Touched up
• missing steering cover metal plate (passive safety issue, recall)
• USB stopped reading music files. 3 times! Eventually replaced (see 16)
• glove-box would not close. Replaced
• steering wheel hub was rubbing against the steering column. Readjusted
• Passenger seat drop mechanism, stiff. Greased
• The right side of the stereo head unit popped out. Refitted
• Engine would not warm up. Thermostat was replaced
• alloy wheels corroded! Replaced once FiatForum was quoted to the dealer...
• knocks from front suspension: Drop links replaced.
• Car flat below 2500 revs. EGR valve and turbo gasket. Reconditioned valve fitted. Once again, FiatForum to the rescue...
• rear brakes noisy at reversing at low speeds: dampener kit fitted as FiatForum advised.
• Fume-like smell in cabin at crawling speeds with the blower on. Whole heating system replaced.
• USB control unit stopped working. Replaced.
• exterior door trim (rubber and black matt trim) tear and peeling off. Replaced.
• Nearside front shock absorber is leaking. Replaced.
• Offside front coil spring snapped at the bottom end. Both replaced.
• creaks from the nearside and offside, temp fix on the striker plate using insulation tape as FiatForum advised.
• Radio went to South American mode! FiatForum to the rescue!
• Both rear shock absorbers are leaking. Replaced
• Indicator stalk working intermittently. Replaced.
• Creaks and knocks and steering ‘play’. Steering rack replaced.
• Still knocks from front suspension. Top shock absorber mountings replaced.
• Air conditioning bearing noisy. New compressor on order through Warranty Direct
• Sunroof will only open half-way through. New vessels replaced, FIAT UK contributed one vessel and 1hour of labour.

Thankfully, other than the EGR valve fault, the engine has given me no cause for concern, the car always gets me from A to B.Even when the valve was not functioning properly, the car was still driveable, she's never left me stranded! Had I not experience all those niggles, then the car would have been absolutely perfect.

alot of the things on the list aren't like you say aren't drastic, ive also had my steering rack replaced and egr is common on most diesels now adays.

Also had the damper kit put the rear brakes, to stop the screaching

Sounds like its not been to bad in 4years and practically 70k

suspension parts seem to be quite cheap now adays aswell, springs snapping is common across most marks as is the leaking shock absorbers with mileage which then comes down to the poor state of some of our roads with pot holes big enough to loose your car in

I can put ticks next to a lot of that and my car had only covered 30k miles - got right on my tits. Unfortunately, my car did leave me stranded on more than one occasion
