Technical Rain sensor...

The mirror should not need to connect to the body computer. Every single one I have dealt with has an ignition live, a negative and a live from the reversing lights, with reversing the mirror dimming feature will switch off.

Thank very much, the ignition live i can take from lighter or from ceiling light?

*Pls read the previous message, there is some interesting info* :D
The sensor that it will work with your car is the Opel/Vauxhall, it is the same as GP hehehe.

I recommend to test the sensor before try to install it on car. It works with 12v power supply. Use a 12v and apply power and then check between +12v and GND goes almost +12v, and between GND and Signal there are some voltage.

Rain sensor's pinout on eLearn is "K085" and electronic diagram and how windshield wipers work are described at "E3020"

Pin 1(RED): +12v goes to Body computer - Connector E - PIN 7
Pin 2(BLACK): GND goes to Chassis GND
Pin 3(GREEN): Signal +12v goes to Body computer - Connector A - PIN 35

Regards,
Julio.

Hi, on my rain sensor (for punto evo) the red cable is blue... is normal? thanks

I think I found the issue, the car body computer knows that my car is a Dynamic Version, and it might be the issue, because my car does not has Rain sensor by default, but the instrument cluster let me do it because is a newer version from another GP Sport or Emotion, wich it includes Rain Sensor. On the other hand, I think I has not sense, because my car, as Wikipedia says: "Dynamic version does not come with Cruise Control or Front Fog lights, but I was able to install them, so I think that my problem come from the OBDII adapter, and I think I will have to buy another more advanced than my Chinese ELM327 WiFi hehehe

If I have time, I will buy a better OBDII adapter and try it again.

Greetings,
Julio.
Have you solved the Failed Proxy aligment for rain sensor? I've a GP Sport with the predisposition cable, ive buy the rain sensor but when i try to enable the rain sensor i've the same error. Its strange becouse i've put the cruise control and enabled it in few minute and all work good... i dont know what do now...

Have you confirmed that power is present on red and black wires when ignition is ON ? Regarding the ELM327 adapter, it is NOT recommended to use wi-fi style ones, go for a good USB interface instead !

BRs, Bernie

Sorry for my late reply! Yes, sometimes manufacters got running out of wires and they changes colors without telling nobody. Maybe is due to that problem or maybe is due to you have a Punto EVO instead a Grande Punto, since there's some modifications that in EVO electronics are not equals to GP.

Regards :D

I think I got the solution to this issue a few weeks ago! :D

I think there's another thing to wire up, I'm not sure but I think there's something in the steering wheel stalk that you must to connect to make it work with the sensor. I'm not 100% sure but there's a pin that if you wire it from steering wheel stalk to body computer, the body computer will enable the A-BUS connection that is used with the rain sensor. Again, it's a suposition but I want to keep investigating to make it work.

Regards

Hi, were you able to solve? Could you share?

I just looked up in the eper, that the regular rearview mirror is a part number 735420429 whereas the option with rain sensor is 735420430. So maybe it will be needed to buy a new mirror and few parts around (plug 735411091 and ornament 735411083), replace it all and activate via MES?
I suppose that while I'm having electric sunroof and blue&me with microphone under the roof, there might be enough cabling even for rain sensor.

There is no steering wheel stalk dedicated to rain sensor - I replaced it last month with the most advanced one with cruise control and between all possible variants of steering wheel stalks, there were no signs of having rain sensor or not.

Hi, there is no lever with rain sensor function. It does the whole body computer according to the settings.(Google traduttore)
