Hi I have searched this forum and the internet for a solution and cant find one so I will post here.. sorry in advance if its been covered

Background - I have the latest blue&me software and the ipod adaptor and the ipod and my usb stick have been working previous

So basically I was driving the other day and my Ipod stopped working. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and still didnt work. I tried my USB pen drive and this didnt work either.

This made me think that a fuse had blown so I looked in my manual and cant find a fuse for it anywhere.

Any help on this would be appreciated as Radio 1 and Galaxy suck

If the USB symbol next to the port doesn't light up, then I'd check the fuse (look for Convergence Unit in the fuse table).

If that's ok, then it sounds like a file on the Ipod/stick isn't compatible and has 'crashed' the B&M which will mean a Dealer visit to restart the system properly (disconnecting the battery doesn't always work).

already been said, disconnect the battery, doesnt have to be for an hour, ten secs will do it, mine does it quite frequently :(

Ive had the same problem yesterday, took (-) terminal off for 5 mins and mine is fine now :)

Contact the dealer, i remember i had to have a new blue & me unit in my old GP 1.4 16v :(...well thats what they said lol

Thanks for advice guys. Just looked in the book for the convergence unit but couldnt find it but i found passnger glove compartment current outlet (7.5A) and checked this and was ok.

Any other ideas?

Looking at the downloadable manuals (newest one)- page 153? Fuses 5 and 10? Although the Convergence ECU is fed from a shared fuse, so I'd expect faults with the other systems that are supplied too.

Like I said- is the USB symbol lighting up? If it is, then it's not a fuse issue.

No it isnt lighting up
My usb stick led isnt lighting up either.. will look at the new manual

Whatever manual you've got would be most accurate, I only mentioned it was the '09 version as a point of reference (Fiat may alter pages/layout over time).

Fuses may well look fine, but it doesn't rule out the B&M may need restarting using Examiner (or at the least, a check for the feed/earth at the connector). ;)

Mine is a 56 1.9 multijet
I tried looking for the fuse box on the dash in the picture according to the manual but i pulled the cover off and nothing was there... same as in the boot

Is the reset a dealer only thing then and what is it likely to cost? Im guessing I will have to take it back to where I got it and not the local dealer?

well the manual is wrong a direct translation from the European left hand drive you only have a boot fuse box on some of the higher spec cars...

fuse boxes are
left hand side of the glove box... and engine bay upper passenger side wing (ffs make sure you refit the lid properly)

well found the fusebox in the glove box and checked the 7.5A fuses because im assuming that the system doesnt run off 15 or 20A and as mentioned before my manual doesnt have any mention of the convergence system and all fuses were intact

do you have any USB cables that arent used that you dont mind cutting if so cut one in half plug it into the usb sockets and using a multimeter look for 5v DC on between the red and black wires on the hacked up USB this will then confirm that there is no voltage as there might be voltage it might be something to do with the data or the usb stick you are using

Just looked at the earlier 07/2007 manual, and the Convergence ECU is listed as "control unit for handsfree kit with voice recognition and Bluetooth technology"- fuses 3 (15 amp), and 14 (7.5 amp). Are either of these in your manual?

Any Dealer can do a full restart of the B&M, assuming that is all it needs.

Yes I have found this in my manual

Fuse box on dashboard - F51 15A and F61 7.5A.. like i said i checked all the 7.5A and im pretty sure I checked the 15A too but will have another look and post back

Checked both fuses and both OK and took -ve off battery again and reset system that way and still doesn't work

Looks like I will be taking a trip to the Stoneacre next week for a reset then

Thanks Guys

I have the problem that it decides to work one minute then the next it doesnt.

If the ipods working and then i take it out and put it back in about 1 minute later it just doesnt want to regonise it. F**ks me off if u ask me. BUT then if i leave the ipod plgged in, a couple of days later it wil decide to work and catch me by suprise.
