Hello,

I had the EGR valve changed on my 1.9 mjet about 5 weeks ago due to the usual signs, no power upto 2500rpm and engine management light coming on.

for a week everything was fine but gradually im having the same simlair problems on accelaration but at 1500rpm to 1900rpm and it seems to be getting worse.

It feels like im having to force the car to the turbo at times to get any power. This is also very random as it only happens every so often. Just this morning the car drove fine and yet no doubt later it will start again.

As the symptoms are similar but not the same (no engine management yet) im wondering if its not the EGR.

Any one else had simliar?

Could be the MAF sensor. Did they give you your "old" EGR back? Maybe they just cleaned it... and badly? I'm suspicious though.

Had my old EGR back & gave it a very thorough clean ready to go back on if needed in the future.

cheers for the reply. I had it done at my mates garage and even watched him fit the new egr as i had to tell him about new swirl gasket.

just strange how its random, feels simliar to EGR but at lower revs then before i had it replaced.

Iv just noticed on start up (cold) its fine. Its happening when its generaly warm/or getting there. Already cost me last month a Full sevice/EGR/Ball joint/Top strut mounts... and at no fault to the car some abarth lights and super sport shocks (didnt trust standard shocks). Bloody thing

you havent put a dodgy air filter on have you???

No, It has a K&N filter (goes inside box). Its been on for last 20,000 and has been cleaned twice, once just recently.

It defo happening at mid temp. start up and normal running temp it doesnt really do it
