Had all four tyres replaced on Suturday on my 1.9JTD Sporting, at a cost of £282. I put Kumho Ecsta after having read positive reviews here.

Problem is, the car is undriveable at anything over 55mph. It vibrates so badly, the passenger seat moves back and forth by about an inch! The car feels more like a cement mixer!

Last year I put Falken ZE912, the car did judder a bit for about 500 miles, it then settled down. I was told at the time that Falkens have 1mm of extra soft compound so the tyre starts wearing evenly. Whatever the case that judder was nothing like the judder endured by the Kumhos! The manager at LC Motors in Cwmbran drove my car today, told me my car was good for making milkshakes, and thought the driveshaft had failed, yet when they checked it they found no play at all.

I am taking the car back to the tyre shop to check the balance of the tyres, I fear they did not balance the tyres properly. In the meantime, has any user of Kumho tyres noticed any judder at over 55mph?

id say it is most definately a wheel balancing problem

Not so much as a jig in the coupe even at 130mph+ (off main road of-course).

Definitely a balance issue.

Just came back from the tyre shop. you are all right, it was balancing.

our doris has these on the baby wagon (focus c-max ) and they are all fine ......wouldnt have used them other wise
