i have had my 1.2 5dr GP at the dealers looking at an issue with headlights staying on and then the horn staying on. the result was that the cables (very small that they are) to the ecu had corroded/ rusted/ whatever and so the connection was poor.
The result is that it has been reconnected and made good as can be, but they cant guarantee that it will last. next time i may need a new ecu and cables.
doesnt fill me with confidence, car only 4 years old, shouldnt start rusting at this age, not around electrical bits and bobs. i dont know about these things but would have thought there would be some sealed units and some not.
annoying becuase the dealer isnt very near, the car not old, obviously out of warranty but that the way it goes, but that it could just do it again, at any point.

ECU has nothing to do whatsoever with headlights or horn

thats reassuring then.
dealer said originally had bad connection around battery that could be causing lights to stay on. updated software and we drove it away. horn came on and stayed on eventually getting to ecu issue.
my guess is the software update did something but i dont know.
dont have pics sorry, dont even know where it is to be honest.
havent had lights or horn on since got it back, but that only tuesday this week.
my concern is that it may be ok for now, but probably have to change it at some point thing. bit of a oh lets try this and see thing. its very :bang: !
