Hi All,
Hoping someone on here may be able to help, My wife has a Punto Grande and for the last two weeks it has been playing up. It just doesn't want to start properly, It fires up and the engine starts, the revs go up to like 1500 but then just drop and the engine cuts??? Even if you try to rev it as you start it up it just doesn't rev and cuts out.
Now, for the interesting part, usually after about 20 times or so it will suddenly start and stay running, once it gets going it's then fine, drives fine, can stop it and starts again perfectly etc, seems like there is no problem. But if it's left not running again for a few hours then back to square one???
Have had it in a local garage and they changed a temperature sensor as they thought that was the cause, turns out it wasn't though and they can't figure it out and have now given the car back and said don;t worry about paying for the temp sensor as they can't fix the car.
Anyone else had similar problems? Maybe help me out? I am thinking it may be some sort of fuel pick up problem but i'm not sure . . .
