i have just had a service 32K and i have been told i need new brakes and pads but i have had a look at EBC brakes and they say they are 22mm is this the same for the oem brakes because it says they have 20.7mm left do i really need new discs??

I'm on 64k miles now on OE discs, depends on use but there can be some "oddities" when a dealer checks brakes.
Personally I'd guess your discs are fine... unless thay are warped of course, but then you'd feel that as a surging effect when braking gently.

i have spoken to someone who is more technically minded and he thinks they will be ok aswell they also say 2-3mm left of pad is that till they need replacing do you no how thick they are when new or how long roughly they will last

I would just keep running it until the brake warning light comes on.

The sensor is base only on the one pad so that is potentially dangerous. :nono:

do you no roughly how long the pads will last with 2mm left??

Dont do this.

The warning is unreliable. I got mine changed with 1ml of pad left and it never came on.

How long will they last? How long is a piece of string?

If you don't get it changed it in time you risk:
a) not having proper braking
b) damaging the discs (metal on metal ain't good)

Does anybody know which disc i need from ebc for the 100hp?

They dont have an option for it on the website, but i have been told, it has the same brakes as a punto.

I think the 1.3 75hp disc is a Brembo 09.5843.34 with a max/min of 22/20mm – then at 20.7mm you’ve used about 2/3rds of the lifespan. But check your model & disc drawing for yourself at …
