Just picked up my brand new Grande 1.3 MJet today and it has a small problem...

When you put the car into reverse the rear fog light comes on, and when you press the rear fog light button, the reverse light comes on!

Anyone know if this has been a common fault before? Taking it back to the dealership tomorrow to see what the problem is.

Apart from that the car is absolutely astonishing.

 Whats the Italian for Joi de vivre? Its the way of things in Italy on a Friday night...

Sorry but I'm after a serious answer...

Sorry but I am serious.... its not a common problem, its a wiring f*ck up at the factory, its under Warranty just take it in & show them, no drama, no crisis......

Maybe the wiring is correct but the car has accidently been fitted with continental lights in the factory, its happened before so who knows??? There is no sense getting wound up about it, its trivial and the dealer will sort it all out.

Save the frustration for something worthwhile :D. If this remains the only problem you have with the car in the next three years get back to me and I in return will drop my pants and do a couple of laps of my local ASDA with them round my ankles (y)

surely it's take out the wire in the fog terminal, and take out the wire at reverse light terminal, and swap them over?

Giving him a single foglight on the R/H side, which is a contravention of the various type approval and construction and use regulations that state single rear foglights must be fitted between the centerline and L/H side of the vehicle.......in other words illeagal (y)

really? i didnt know that they had to be in a certain position.
i realized after though that he said his lights were wrong way round, not just the wiring lol.

Unfortunately that's not the case. Went to the dealer today and apparently Fiat are aware of it, they told me they'd get in touch with them and find out how to fix it??

I've checked the other cars on the site and all have the reverse light in the left side, whereas mine is in the right side. Hopefully won't be too long before new parts arrive.

you could have your rear fog as white, or your reverse in red , one of the only things about the gp i think they could improve, was if that strip with the rear fog, reverse and reflectors was symmetrical in colours :)
