Hiya,

i've just finished reading my owners handbook and have noticed that the products recommended cannot be bought anywhere except the dealer. I had a look on shop4parts but the postage makes it very very expensive.

Is there any alternatives that can be bought from halfords?

recommended coolant is PARAFLU UP
recommended oil is SELENIA K

Thanks in advance for any help :)

take it your referring to your Grande punto what engine have you got is it petrol or diesel?

you can get stuff that complies with Fiat spec without the price attached

http://www.commaoil.com/motorists

for example try the search by vehicle (y)

Im using a local independent Motorfactors and am paying £17 for 5ltrs of OEM spec oil

to give you some comparison on price....

you shouldn't need coolant unless you have a leak ok the level drops (at which point i would be looking for a leak ;)

...and every 2 years when it needs changing, sometimes longer, depends on the coolant you use of course. just make sure you don't mix types.

selenia k is a 15w-40 or is it 10w-40? either way just use the guide Andy Monty has given and they should tell you, then get the best oil of that spec you can afford, well willing to spend.

halfords is good for oil only if it's on offer, or nowhere else is open! get yourself to a motorfactor, you pay about half the price for most things compared to halfords!
