Right guy,

I have not been drifving the GPS for a month now cause she is due a service and I did'nt have the funds previously so now thats osrted time to get her back on the road!

Couple of qeustions
Car is on her third year so manufacterer warranty expired just on the third year dealer warranty now which expires in december 2010

Firstly what is the mileage leaway ie: the car is due a 54K service mileage is up at 54940 so I guess she is still within the threshold to be serviced and not lose out on warranty

Also Glyn Hopkin in Stortford have explained that I just need the level 1 service which they can do for £150 + Vat sounds ok to me (Bear in mind i would rather do the service myself only doing this to keep her in warranty)
I then phone Chelmsford Glyn Hopkin who qouted me £268 + Vat and I apparently need an intermediatte service that includes a pollen filter change and they said I had to have this service to jkeep the warranty!

I then called AMC in Chelmsford who said I could have a level one service at £180 + Vat but if I wanted my engine to be covered under the warranty I needed an intermediatte service!!!!!:bang::bang:

The car had a major servicxe at 36,000 miles last year! which included warranty jobs such as waterpump and cambelts/tensioners etc.

So My qeustion here is are any of you ofay with what I should be doing here.

I mean what extra would you get on a service from basic to intermediatte on the engine apart from the fuel and air filter being changed too?

Is there anywhere else someone can suggest I take her for a service rememebr can't drive her more than about 50 miles to keep her under the mileage threshold I am in braintree essex??

Any help greatly appreciatted (y)

sorry can i just say i wouldnt go to stortford they are shocking, ive recently created a thread where they scuffed the front of my car last wednesday and then wouldnt sort it out hense going to head office, also they didnt do the first years service properly and and a friend of mine had the same problem first years service was appauling so i wouldnt bet against then being equally poor 3rd service time round!

Yeah know what you mean TBH though I kinda have no choice cause I can only drive the car slightly less than 60 miles so its either Hopkins AMC or D Salmon cars all the others are a pain to get to and I only want the booked stamped to keep the warranty clean I would do the service myself and do a much better job but I will invalidate the warranty then.

I am just confused by the fact the dealers are telling different things in terms of what type of service I need, hopw much it will be and how the warranty will be affected if at all.......

Trust me if I had the choice I would'nt tough them with a barge pole

Yes true I had thought about that but I need to find one that has the ability to reset the service indicator etc etc

even red dot can turn that off for good i think i know they can do it to the seatbelt alarm and such as i read that not a week ago!

use them for the indicator and an approved garage if you wanted to save cash and use a decent garage rather than the pile of rubbish that is bishops stortford glyn hopkin :)

they had the cheek to send me a service reminder today aswell ha like hell id go back ;)
