my car is struggling to return good mpg i do mixed driving but i dont thrash it everywere just mixed driving im only getting 35mpg theres still power there so not egr i dont think just had it serviced with correct oil so got no idea what it could be any help please

Mine's down to high 30s at the moment. Town driving and giving it a bootful (as the EGR has just been replaced by my fair hand) is doing this. MPG does go down when it's cold - especially on a longer warm up.

Let's have a look at the evidence. What model you have? - & post-up your black-box readings ... ALL of `em, not just av.mpg.

If its a TJet then 35mpg sounds about right.

sorry its a mjet 130 and what do you mean blackbox its only the average mpg that matters i wud have thought

Your carputer ... flight recorder ... whatever.

Your av.mpg ... being the `average' ... is only a part of the story. For example - was your av. over 10 mile or 500 mile?

(1) What is your range reading? (2) What is your trip reading? (3) What is your av. speed reading? ... etc

god knows it doesnt read anything at the minute as i havent drove it but ill post up when ive driven today

i checked my one today and im only getting 22.3 mpg, and i deffinatly dont rough....to and from work

modded t-jet mpg

sorry to hi-jack the thread like this but im abit confused...
ive got the following fitted:
GSR
REMAP
STRAIGHT THROUGH EXHAUST.

i do "normal" driving during the week to and from work which takes 20 mins tops, and im only getting 22.3 mpg,

can you guys with modded T-JETS tell me your av mpg

From memory, I think many were only getting mid 20s themselves.

There's quite a big mix of MPG figures in that thread. Quite how the person posting is getting 53MPG on the motorway when I get that in my M-Jet is beyond me!

At present im getting anywhere between 32-34mpg in my GP 1.9 M-Jet 120. This is purely because of the very cold weather, and the fact my commute has completely changed now to constant stop start traffic and low speed gears. I hate doing 8-4 driving!

I had a late 2006 GPS130 that I sold in 2009 after a year with only 9000 miles on it. When I bought it, it gave (according to the on board computer) approx 44 mpg. I fitted a digital tuning box that cost me £300+. That gave me approx 48 mpg no matter how hard I drove the car, with approx 160 bhp (switchable to 170 bhp - but with mpg back to 43/44 mpg). The box was a revelation. I regulary switched it between my then Alfa Brera 2.4 & the Fiat. It took 5 mins to remove & 10 mins to fit.

The "box" totally removed the turbo lag pulling away in 1/2nd gear & mid range acceleration was incredible. I traded both the Brera & GPS130 for a BMW Z4M in 2009. Therefore this tuning box is available (look at the classifieds) for a decent offer around £95. Telephone 01603-880449
