Hey guys and girls,

When I have my rear heater one there is one line on the window that doesn't defrost/demist.
Does anyone know if a repair to the rear heated windscreen is covered under 3 yr dealer warranty?

Highly unlikly, as its more than likly to have been damaged through incorrect cleaning of glass, or something catching the rear window (n)

your going to need to find out why it isnt working first...

take of the boot trim (black plastic with the boot close handle remove the screw in the handle then unclip it (on those little plastic push fit tits)

now you have it off you should see the 2x spade connections which connect to the glass turn on rear screen

put a multimeter or 12V tester across them any voltage?

if not

clip to one connection and the other to a clean bit of body work (VIN tag in boot would be prime as its riveted in place) any joy if not connect to the other and try if you get light you have a faulty earth.....

double check this with a continuity tester (multimeter with an Ohm or beep tester)

if you have no continuity i'd suggest pulling off the rubber boot at the upper left of the boot lid and check wires for damage there *turn off first in case you have bare wires floating about

clean the glass well (wiping along the element not across it IE side to side)

then look closely at it from the inside out on a bright day you should see a break or damage

clean the area with methylated spirit then mask and paint this should ensure the glass is clean and the paint will stick (y)
