Standard sporting rims are 6.5J. I use 225 / 45 R17 winter tires on them and I have no problem.
yeah, my bro has got some toyo's on his and they are S*ite!! so staying clear of them. and i have got some federals on mine, like driving on glass.
Nothing wrong with Toyos at all mate.
I have toyo proxes all round and they offer endless amounts of grip, especially in the wet, and we do get a fair bit of the wet stuff
Wear rate is pretty good, too, the ones on the front, which were on the back until a few months ago, have now done 20K in total.
A lot of people say they wear very fast, but ive yet to see this
I'm very surprised at your brother saying they are crap! What car is he driving.

My Proxes have lasted 10,000 miles on the front so far. Not that much left now, will be looking to swop them soon. They are good for the money though.

When i brought my gp it has nankanags on the front and very worn bridgestones on the back, i think they might have been orginal when i had a puncher on the back i desided to change both rear tyres as they both only had 3mm left on them. So i went for nankangs alround and in the dry they are very good you can really chuck the car around with some confidance.
Sadly in the dry they are awfull i just change my driving style in the wet to compensate for this tho, For £50 a wheel delivered from the internet you can't complain good value for money and they seem to be wearing slowly considering the abuse the front ones get. When my fronts run out i will buy nankangs again so i got the same make alround.
