What can you guys tell me about these?
Cannot afford remap atm, but would like a little more power (not that 130 really needs it).
Do they do harm to engine, car still under warrenty so would be able to unplug should there be a problem.
How much is it at Reddot anyway if thats the better option

Thanks in advance

Paul

On a FIATForum Rolling Road day, a Red Dot remap will cost £200 and allow you to reach 170-190BHP with no other modifications. This is the option the majority of 130Mjet users on here have gone for and Red Dot will supply you with a before and after run on their Rolling Road to prove your gains.

Theres a trader on here TMC Motorsport who also supplies tuning boxes and will be able to talk you through the benefits there of.

Either option carried out correctly will be fairly safe for your engine, unless of course your driving around at MAX RPM the whole time? Or not allowing your turbo to warm at the start of a drive and cool properly at the end.

Have a search of this and other forum sections and you'll gain much more knowledge about the pro's and con's of both.

Some to start you off.

sounds to me pricewise that reddot would make more sense, as it is known as THE tuning company to use for grandes i would probably head down that route. i will be doing just that when i get my mjet in march :D

I bought a race tuning box from ebay.
Cost me £120 or something, easy to fit !
I haven't been on a rolling road but it will pull away from a friends golf with 195 bhp

Beauty of it is you candy it with a clever little switch so you are able to turn it off and on again.

Problems I have had:
Burst 2 turbo pipes now.
I can't turn it off (because I don't want to)

I don't know that if I had it done by a professional I wouldn't get the pipe problem, but cheap fix anyways
