Hi everyone
Got a problem opening the rear doors

Just got a second hand Punto Grande (06). Its sat still for a few weeks and my Wife drove it last, she had a couple of problems too but now nothing seems to open the doors. They click etc on the central locking but i can't open them from inside or out.

Any help or advice would be great.

Sometimes, the door seals can get sticky, holding the door closed. Get someone to lie on the back seat and push the door with their feet while you pull from the outside.

Are you sure it's not a 3 door?


As above, and once they're open consider giving the door seals a wipe with a silicone lube covered rag to stop them sticking in the future.

My sisters does this, think it's more then Sticky seals!

needs modified outer door handles.

Is it under 3rd year warranty? Sisters gonna sells hers because of it lol

covered by 3rd year, even if not handles are cheap and easy to fit.

In that case then I'll save the hassel of taking the car down, leaving it a day then haveing to pick it up! I take it fitting is self explanatory!?

half hour per side;

5mm allen key
Crosshead screwdriver
hook (or similar to remove window winder clip)
8mm / 10mm / 13mm sockets

I once sold a punto to a obviously very effeminate young man and his boyfriend. after a couple of weeks he came back complaining that his back door was a bit sticky. I initially suggested banging it harder, or trying vaseline, but eventually the car went into the workshop and got fixed.

I have had this problem since new on 07 plate 5 door it is extremely annoying!! my car has been in to local dealer 3 times and each time they say its fixed but it never is!! usually start sticking after a week or so even complained to FIat UK and still no joy!!

Staying on topic, one of my rear doors is not nearly impossible to open unless you get it in the right place, its embarassing when your stood there for 5 mins trying to open it lol.

I assume this is not covered under 3rd year warranty, so does anyone know what fiat will charge to sort this??

If you want to open door pull up handle and gently hit (clenched fist) the door where the lock is and it will open.

ahhh so you think this will be defo covered in 3rd year warranty???

do you not trust me by now

simply say the doors dont open from outside and you have to open them from inside (take childlock off!)

course i trust you mate

I just dont rate my dealer very high but will get it looked at because it has to go in for a recall anyway.
