As long asyou gave the right address when you registered the car, you will get any recall notices due. They do them in batches so as not to overload the dealer network. There has obviously been a new batch go out recently with the number of postings about them.

Cheers

This is the third recall ive had with this car each letter had to be signed for, so as long as your car is registered to the right address on the v5 logbook you will get the recall letter.

1st recall: brakes may fail.

2nd recall: car might set on fire.

3rd recall: steering may fail resulting in loss of control of vehicle.

Ive only had the car a year and a half, so have been shocked by how many recalls i have had, even though i love my grande its not loving me much, which is such a shame.

Im not 100% sure i would buy another one.

I managed to get mine booked in for the 18th, dealer didnt seem that bothered about getting me in earlier as i rang up about 2 weeks ago, i wouldve prefered to get it sorted ASAP.

Note to self: Never get in the same car as this guy!

I'm buying an Evo on friday, cant help but wonder how many recalls that'll get as its "new new"

They should capitalize and embolden MAY and MIGHT lol. At least they are telling you and bringing you in :)

i got my letter too booked in for the 22nd, going isle of wight before that so i wish i hadnt read the letter until i come back :(

but i took the car in for warranty works several times one of which the rear calipers were changed so this may be the second recall its had

dealer said theyre almost fully booked up until then so they've really spread the word!

1st recall: brakes may fail.

Rear flexi hoses- 'might' have failed over the course of many years...

2nd recall: car might set on fire.

small possibilty of heater wiring chaffing- highly unlikely, and never had one need a replacement loom..

3rd recall: steering may fail resulting in loss of control of vehicle.

Again, 'might'- no cases have happened...

Recalls happen- all manufacturer's have them (just check the DVLA website). At least Fiat are quick to respond, rather than ignoring the problem (Renault Clio bonnet catches/ Vauxhall Corsa 1.4 16v exhaust camshafts anyone?). ;)

If you think having 3 is bad- the Stilo had 5 recalls before it even launched!

Spoke to fiat today about the recall

Was told that its a 20min job to check for a fault, and 40min to carry out the work if needed and was told only about 5% of cars checked need the work doin.

Quick and easy to check and if repalcement needed not too long a job hopefully all your dealers will have a spare column in stock

I'd got it too. It will be my second recall. Not a big problem my grandfathers volvo xc90 had a faulty steering wheel recall too. And i heard that bmw's had a faulty seat heater which burned your *ss.:D

Why dont we all ring up Fiat on the "off chance" we may need a recall ,surely letting the Admin staff send out the letters to the people who do need a recall would be far more benificial.

It's no big deal!! I had mine recalled and yesterday I visited the local dealership.
They just checked the torque of a bolt at the Steering Shaft and thats all!!
It took me more time to reach the dealership than check the car.

I did get a letter thats why i rang them. smart mouth.

So if you got the letter why didnt you just ring the Dealer?,you dont ring Fiat before you take your car in for a service do you?
