Hi - I have an 07 Grande Punto 1.4 Active Sport. Yesterday morning I started the engine and had the heater/blowers on whilst clearing the snow & ice from the windows. I got into the car to pull away and the engine died. I tried to re-start but the engine just made a high-pitched wining noise with a rattling which seemed to come from behind the passenger glove compartment and a message to check the running & plate lights appeared. Front lights were ok but the back lights were out when I checked. I left the car at home and got the bus to work. When I tried the car on the evening, it started first time. Any ideas what might have caused this - snow on the engine maybe - and if it could be a regular problem. Have decided to stick with the bus until the weather improves as I'd rather not get stuck on the road. Thanks, Sarah
