Hi all

Not posted before :)

Sad to say little problem with heater fan it don't work.

It's a 1.4 active sport no aircon reg Dec 07

Checked fuses, fan motor and had connectors on and off.

Where is the resistor i've got glove box out but can't see it or do you need to take all heater box out.

On the bright side if it ever works again it will be dead quiet without all the leaves in the fan !

try sticking it on speed 4 if it still doesn't work its likely to be the motor is kaput (4 bypasses the resistor pack)

get a multi meter and see if you have a voltage at the plug that goes onto the motor

Thanks for quick reply Andy.

Put meter on and top speed it's 1.69 volts and reads about same on other speeds.

This afternoon I had fan motor out gave it 12 volts and it jumped off the step ladders so think thats working but I won't be doing that trick again.

No feed when fan switch is in off position of course.

Thanks for all your help everyone.

Hope to have another look tomorrow if weathers not too bad.

If no joy then it's a visit to a Fiat dealer.

Any recomendations for one in or near Wigan.

Chorley Fiat Blackpool supplied but it's a bit to far.

If I'm looking at right thing in a white plastic housing with multiplug on that has five connectors green n yellow, green n black, blue n red, plus two thick wires that go to heater fan, should be one brown, one orange but on close inspection in between snow showers I have two brown going into connector so yes orange wire is burnt at end.
Still looks good enough to do job or does it mean I have problem somewhere else or bad connection in multiplug to resistor, how do you get resistor out ?

Just took multi plug off again and it looks perfect checked it with mirror and torch.

It's snowing again, every time I go out it starts better get this fixed or else your all going to get lot's of snow.

Lucky me I got sent home today at 1.30 pm but back in tomorrow but it was snowing
so still got a Punto with out any puff in the fan !

Back on the road with working fan on all speeds, yes it was bad connection on orange wire to resistor. Not the best bit of electrical design big thick wire with cheap little connectors. Then to put multi plug it in a place that's going to be kicked when front passengers stretch out their legs.

Top tip when checking multiplug by waggling make sure engine is running as I think relay don't power without engine running.

stretch their legs! if they are that comftable they should buy their own car.

its ignition (+15) controlle3d, engine not need to be running, thats citroens that are like this.

I stand corrected Mr T:rolleyes: now only give lift's to dwarf's and make sure they don't stretch out but it's still not the best bit of design :p

My lucks changing now! punt fans working, no snow falling here and got the offer of a free electric blanket off some bed place.

Re: Punto Active 1242cc heater fan resistor

Hello All, fan not working at all and garage asking for £159 to fix. Can anyone please tell me exactly what to buy to fix this problem, then I'll get garage to fit it - husband not sure what to do. I could divorce him but he's good at other things!
Thank you all.

See the FAQ section > Grande punto :)

I have a problem with blower too... I can't find that 5 wires connector on mine blower. Is this because I have automatic climate controll and is maybe different?

So the problem I have is that blower is working in the morning but after job, when it is around 30 degrees celsius outside it is just not starting, do anyone know what is a possible solution? Wires on the blower looks fine F18 fuse is also fine, no more ideas.
