i got a cat back exhaust about a week ago and i thought over the week the ecu would sort it self out to adjust to the drop in pressure from the exhaust,

but it still isnt boosting like before, reading the internet its been suggested that i disconnect the battery for an hour to reset the ecu so it effectively starts life with a gsr and exhaust already installed? i know there learning ecus but it just isnt learning lol

are there downsides to resetting the ecu?

How do you know its not boosting as it was? The back pressure has dropped, therefore gas flows quicker and should reduce turbo lag.

Removing the battery might help, but I dont think it will change much. The only downside is having to reset the clock and date!

I've had the same done on my abarth mate. I've posted in your other thread aswell. Ever since my turbo lag as been reduced greatly. Im sport mode, when i stick my foor to the floor, the power is there instantly. Hardly any lag whatsoever. Im not to sure what could be the problem with yours but try as suggested and reset ECU?

yeah i see what you mean you can actually floor it nowdays where as before you had to play the turbo game

this evening on the way home it boosted like it used to in 2nd but then got all reserved and gentlemanly on me later on in the drive lol

well ill reset it in the morning and ill let you know how it goes :yum: fingers crossed

i have the same problem with my tur bo bacj exhaust only by like 2psi but still not boost rite and does it remove the repmap after u dissconnect the battery?

Your remap is flashed into the ECU and is a permenant (until its flashed again) modification. Removal of the power will not remove the remap.

well it did work :)

left it disconected for two hours then left it to idle for 20minutes until it was warm then i turned it off to save that data then on again and a 10 minute drive off and on again then another 15minute blast

its sorted itself out! boosting like before but the power from the mods now gives more pull at low and high revs (y)

well worth the money :p
